For companies: integrate, license or acquire the technology behind Azima
Anyone who markets, values, finances or plans Vienna addresses, whether as a portal, agency software, bank, insurer, developer or planning office, can use Azima’s calculations instead of rebuilding them: the direct sun per floor and room from the City of Vienna’s measured building heights, plus noise, summer heat, zoning and location.
In short: Vienna Living Map calculates light, noise, heat and location for every Vienna address from 74 datasets with 529,297 data points in 12 engines (as of 2026-10-21). Today it can be integrated without a contract via the light widget, partner link, OpenImmo enrichment and the IFC context model; a licence for the calculation, a partnership or an acquisition of the technology is available on request.
What works today — without a contract
- Light widget — one line of code on a listing page shows the hours of direct sun on 21 March, June and December for the floor, calculated in the visitor’s browser. Free, no account, no limit. Light widget →
- Partner link — any software can create a link per property that opens the full light check for that address (the address travels in the fragment and never reaches the Vienna Living Map server).
- OpenImmo enrichment — an OpenImmo XML in, the same file back with a location text and the light figures per property; read in the browser, no upload. For agents & developers →
- IFC context model — the buildings within 150 m of an address as solids up to their measured eaves, for Archicad and Revit, located in MGI / Austria GK East (EPSG:31256).
- Reports and Premium — the report per address as a PDF and Premium for offices, also on invoice. Pricing →
What is available on request
- A licence for the calculation in your own product — the sun per floor and room, noise, heat and location for your own stock or portal.
- A list of addresses calculated and returned — today through the OpenImmo enrichment, other formats on request.
- The widget under your own brand, without the link back to Azima — planned with Azima 1.0.
- A REST API with keys and billing — planned, not built yet. Tell me which figures you need; that sets the order.
- The per-address dataset for agents and tools (/data/agenten/, since 26 October 2026): fetching, reading, quoting and answering one person is free with attribution; embedding it in portals or products, redistributing it or training models on it needs an agreement.
- Working together on a project — data, calculation, map, 3D view or report — or taking over the technology.
What is behind it
- The sun is calculated from the City of Vienna’s roof model LOD2.1 (the measured eaves of every building) and the terrain, at the window height of each floor — not estimated per district.
- The figures are deterministic: the same address gives the same result, frozen by golden tests. AI only translates — wishes into weights, facts into language; it never ranks and never sets a number.
- Where it can, the calculation runs in the visitor’s browser: the widget sends no address to Vienna Living Map, and there are no tracking cookies.
- Built with TypeScript, React, MapLibre GL and Three.js on Cloudflare; the datasets are open data with their licence named on every page.

What stays the same in every licence
A measured drawback is never removed, only explained better. Aircraft noise, shading, summer heat, a poorly lit room stay in the result — under your own brand too. Every figure carries its source, and no result is a valuation. That is exactly what makes the figures credible to buyers: they do not come from the side that sells.
Frequently asked
Is there an API?
Not yet as a public REST API — it is planned with Azima 1.0. Today the widget, the partner link, the OpenImmo enrichment and the IFC model work without a contract; anything beyond that is agreed in a conversation.
What does a licence cost?
It depends on the scope — how many addresses, which figures, with or without your own brand. The prices for reports and Premium are fixed and public on the pricing page; a licence is agreed in a conversation.
Only Vienna?
Yes. The calculation depends on the open data of the City of Vienna — roof model, terrain, zoning, noise maps. Another city needs the same data first.
Can I use the source data myself?
The raw data is open: City of Vienna (data.wien.gv.at, CC BY 4.0), OpenStreetMap (ODbL) and others, each named with its licence. What Azima adds is the calculation on top — per floor, per room, per address — and the curated datasets.
Can the technology be acquired?
That can be discussed — licence, partnership or acquisition. Write to me; the topic “Licensing & integration” is already selected below.
