Living in Wienerberg City — what is it like?
Short and honest: you live in a high-rise quarter in the south of the city, built from 1999 on a site of Wienerberger, with around 1,200 flats, the Twin Tower of 2001 and the Wienerberg recreation area about two minutes on foot away. The trade-off: the U6 is about 19 minutes on foot away, and day to day you take the bus.
Living Snapshot — the area in numbers
Wienerberg City is not a Grätzl of its own in Vienna Living Map’s data — what is rated is the area next door: the Wienerberg Grätzl, about 600 metres away. Orientation for the surroundings, not a verdict on individual flats.
What shapes daily life
Construction here began in 1999, on a site of Wienerberger. In 2001 the Twin Tower was completed: two towers by Massimiliano Fuksas, 138 and 127 metres tall. Around them a quarter grew with around 1,200 flats, a primary school, two kindergartens and a cinema.
Right next door lies the Wienerberg recreation area: 117 hectares, 90 of them protected as a nature reserve since 1995. From the middle of the quarter it is about two minutes on foot to its edge.
What works surprisingly well
Quiet and cool by Viennese standards: in the Wienerberg Grätzl, about 600 metres away, quiet stands at 7.4 (Vienna median 6.8) and the modelled summer-heat index at 43 out of 100 (median 56).
A lot is within the quarter itself: a primary school, two kindergartens and a cinema belong to Wienerberg City. Buses 65A and 7B stop at the Wienerberg City stop, about a minute on foot from the middle.
What you consciously accept
The U-Bahn is far: the U6 station Meidling is about 19 minutes on foot away. Day to day you take the bus.
It is a high-rise quarter, built from 1999 — if you are looking for Altbau, a low building with few households or a Grätzl that has grown over decades, this is the wrong place.

Who is it for?
For anyone who wants to live new, with a primary school and kindergartens in the quarter and the recreation area outside the door. If you need the U-Bahn outside the house or would rather live in a low building, Wienerberg City will honestly disappoint.
Check the light per floor
Between high-rises the floor has a say: how much sun reaches a window depends on the side, the floor and the towers around it. The light check calculates, for the address and the floor, when direct sun reaches the windows — on 21 June and 21 December, from the officially measured heights of the neighbouring buildings.
