Stadtwanderweg 1a: Leopoldsberg
The shorter sister of the Kahlenberg trail, up to the Leopoldsberg. The rock drops steeply to the Danube here — the point where the Vienna Woods end and the Marchfeld begins.
The trail runs about 8 km and takes roughly 2.5 hours on foot. It starts at Nußdorf (Straßenbahn D, Endstation) in the 19 (Döbling) district — reachable by public transport, like every Stadtwanderweg. What interests us is less the climb than the doorstep: this is how living looks where the trail runs.
