Stadtwanderweg 1: Kahlenberg
From Nußdorf up through the vineyards to the Kahlenberg. At the top you stand above the city and watch the Danube run in both directions. In autumn the way back passes Heurigen with their branch out.
The trail runs about 11 km and takes roughly 3.5 hours on foot. It starts at Nußdorf (Straßenbahn D, Endstation) in the 19 (Döbling) district — reachable by public transport, like every Stadtwanderweg. What interests us is less the climb than the doorstep: this is how living looks where the trail runs.
